Module 1: Establish Authority
Define Your Target Market
Now that you understand what a strong brand does and what it inspires your audience to do, we’ll jump into applying the Blog Smarter strategy to your business. Our first step is to define your target market.
Note: You have two weeks to complete the four core lessons inside this module, so no need to rush! For a suggested pace for each week, visit the Your Assignments forum in the VCC.

Warning: When you uncover a potential super fan in your research, you’ll get the best results from sending them a short email with a personal invitation to chat one-on-one. On the other hand, if you were to send an email to several people through your mailing list all at once, you’ll likely get a much lower response rate.

02. Download the handy chit-chat kit to help you connect + chat with someone from your target market.
03. Want an easy way to organize your Treasure Trove? As I recommended in the video, Evernote is a great choice. But if you’d prefer a spreadsheet, here’s a Google Sheets template you can copy to your own Google Drive and use while you research. This is a view-only link, so after you open it, you’ll need to select File»Make a copy to make your own copy. Note: The spreadsheet has two tabs at the bottom so you can access all the questions easily.
