I’ve loved Jesus, words and ideas ever since I was a little girl in my grandparents’ bookstore, where I curled up with stacks of books tall enough to touch the sky. God grew the dreams He planted in my heart and I served as a writer and editorial director for DaySpring for over a decade. Then He led me in a new direction and I’m now the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of You’re Already Amazing as well as several other books with Revell.

A few years ago I discovered the internet made it possible for me to connect with the hearts of women in other ways too. I began my blog and cofounded (in)courage {a place that’s like God’s beach house}. Around that time I also got a masters degree in counseling and became a certified life coach so I could better listen to folks and cheer them on!

Outside the word world, I’ve been married to Mark for eighteen years. He’s a great guy who keeps my feet on the ground so I can have my head in the clouds. After a long, hard struggle with infertility God gave us a 21-year-old daughter named Lovelle. We’re so proud of her and we love her so much! Lovelle is now twenty-six, married and has a little girl named Eula Ellen–our granddaughter.

A few confessions: I’m not a morning person (I once put chocolate on the alarm clock to bribe myself to get up. I ate it and went back to bed). I can be silly and a little messy and I’m always thankful for grace. And good friends who love me as I am.

I see my blog as a bit like an online coffee shop. A spot to share our hearts, explore our dreams, laugh, encourage each other and celebrate what God is doing. I want to do all I can to empower you to become all God created you to be.
