My name is Zina and I blog at BecomingUnBusy.com and LetsLassoTheMoon.com.

I started Lasso as a family site a solid decade ago. When it became more profitable than my 32-hour week job, I quit. My income was/is 100% from ads and sponsored content. I've worked with a lot of great brands because of my Pinterest following, but the social environment is always shifting. I'd like to have more than one business strategy.

I started UnBusy to try and do the "1000 loyal followers" approach to selling products. I thought I'd start small and under the radar, but the concept took off and I chickened out. I defaulted back to running the site the same way I've always run Lasso. I make ad rev there, but I'd like to drop ads, take advantage of my email list, and start providing relevant products to my engaged followers. UnBusy will be my primary focus throughout the course.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learning WITH and FROM you all too.

Random facts:

1. Despite my best intentions, I somehow always end up accidentally reading five non-fiction books at a time. I like to underline things and tab pages. My husband thinks I'm a book monster.
2. My two girls (13 & 14) are only 15-month apart.
3. I am an Enneagram Six.
4. I like taking naps outside.
5. Going to Yosemite is on my bucket list.
6. I have vitiligo. 
7. My kids missed more school last year because of cold temps than snow.
8. Our girls both go to a project-based learning charter school.
9. We live in the suburbs in Wisconsin.
10. I love the concept of Paul Jarvis and the "Company of One," but struggle watching everyone around me have "a team."
11. I secretly love watching teen movies with my girls on Netflix.
12. Our family has a cabin (pic above!) up on Lake Superior on the Apostle Island Lakeshore. This is my happy place.
13. Last June, because of this awesome flexible & remote job, I was able to spend the month there with my kiddos. It was amazing.
14. I love the outdoors.
15. I believe in abundance over scarcity, especially when it comes to supporting fellow bloggers.
16. I love having a coffee every morning, but in reality — my coffee drinks are desserts.
17. The first album I ever owned was by The Cars and I got the record as a birthday gift. The first concert I went to was NKOTB. 😂
18. My husband is a minimalist, but I grew up in a family who viewed possessions and a high income as success. I love the boy.
19. We recently sold our house and downsized this spring. The week we moved we also got a puppy — a mini Goldendoodle (this is him).
20. I've never owned a dog before, but my kids suckered me in with their mad Powerpoint skills. I wrote about it and the title of my post was: How This Cat-Loving Mom (Who Is Allergic To Dogs) Got Suckered Into Being a Puppy Lover
21. Sometimes I feed my kids popcorn for dinner.
22. I love sunflowers.
23. I love reading fiction, but don't naturally gravitate toward it.
24. I am working on trying to lead an unbusy life.
25. I am not there yet.
