Jen Nelson

I started my blog Grounded and Growing after leaving my job at University of Illinois Extension, where I had been a Horticulture Educator for 12 years. It was my dream job for many years, but after I became a mom the office environment became increasingly toxic. It was not the way I wanted to live, to put it mildly. After I had my second child in 2016, I left and have been forging my own path ever since. I absolutely love helping people with their gardening questions, and my blog has allowed me to continue following that passion.
